Expected results | By bringing in best practice standards and international experience, this project will support the sustainable growth of the Iraqi microfinance sector. |

Project description and objectives | With this workshop SANAD (in cooperation with GIZ) introduced banks to successful SME lending concepts and tools, provided training on what banks require from SME clients, and supported exchange and knowledge transfer. |
Expected results | The project presented SME lending as a business case, which shall lead to an increase of credit to the private sector, i.e. SMEs who play a pivotal role in accelerating economic growth and creating jobs. |
