Technical Assistance Facility
The success of the SANAD Fund for MSME depends on the ability of partner institutions to increase access to finance for the currently underserved micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) sector in the Middle East and North Africa.
This is not only a question of funding: to many partner institutions it is also an issue of the right lending methodology and organizational setup. Both are prerequisites for moving into as yet largely unknown business segments – and expanding the risk frontier. SANAD takes a holistic approach and combines funding with technical assistance to better address these challenges.
The Technical Assistance Facility (TAF) supports SANAD’s mission by providing partner institutions with the hands-on support they need to optimize product offerings, tap new customer segments, adapt to alternative lending technologies, and develop new initiatives.
The TAF’s capacity building activities not only translate into increased outreach to MSMEs, SANAD’s target group, but also effectively reduce the Fund’s risk exposure.
